Week 2 The Dream

Believe

We have been reading Scroll 1 from Og Mandino’s ‘The Greatest salesman in the World’ for the last two weeks and will continue to do so until the end of the month. The iconic line ‘Today I begin a new life’ was for me a very poignant one. When I followed the MasterKey Experience last year I remember these words felt inspiring but it was hard to see how my life would or could actually change through reading this book along with the MasterKey by Charles Haanel.

As I began to absorb the teachings along with hundreds of other people from all over the world, and listening weekly to Mark J explaining how our lives are affected by our thoughts, and our thoughts are affected by the things we experience through our lives, I began to piece together so many fragmented ideas. Writing out a DMP (Definite Major Purpose) was quite a struggle to begin with. When someone asks you to write down your wildest dreams with dates and feelings, it seems unrealistic. Did I truly believe any of my DMP would come true when I wrote it? NO I did not. But I was prepared to ‘play the game’ and do what I was asked to do in faith that this would somehow help me. I knew in my heart it would help but I didn’t know quite how.

20141008_135600#1I have mentioned in several blog posts over the last few months how I made the decision to leave my teaching position in a wonderful school to pursue the dream of running my own creativity courses, helping people reconnect with their imagination. Haanel says about the subconscious mind, “On the spiritual side, it is the source of ideals, of aspiration, of the imagination, and is the channel through which we recognise our Divine Source, and in proportion as we recognise this divinity do we come into an understanding of the source of power.” (Haanel 2:26)

20141009_232014I felt a growing, burning desire within me to help people reconnect with their imagination through creative arts and music. Technology surrounds us at every turn, and for a lot of people their entire working day can be filled with technology. Taking time to sit, relax and create is a basic human need. As children we played and created, but sadly so often many have their beautiful create imagination squashed and squeezed almost into oblivion as they are fed through the educational funnel where academia is prized above all else. Not that there is anything wrong with learning the more academic subjects, but creativity allows us to make use of this prized knowledge in innovative ways. I believe it is essential to our personal growth and happiness as human beings to create and this requires an active, free imagination.

As a child creating was my way to escape. I could get lost in my own little world, totally absorbed in making and creating with anything I could find. I believe these early days were honing my gifts to the world, and now with 18 years teaching experience behind me I am ready to bring the powerful healing creativity brings to others in a new, exciting and innovative way.

20141010_120052Today my 12 months dream came to fruition as I began Week 1 of my seven week course. It was a fabulous day. I learnt a lot, my group learnt a lot and everyone left with a big smile on their face while I collapsed in the chair with a huge feeling of relief, deep satisfaction and sense of achievement. Thank you to a wonderful group of fabulous ladies who helped bring a dream to fruition today. Today I began a new life” 🙂

I have chosen a different video from my usual music to share with you the words of a powerful and life changing resource, if you are willing to listen and learn.
