Woodwind Tuition

I have over 30 years teaching experience in Private and LEA education. I teach woodwind from beginner to advanced Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute, Grade 5 Music Theory and beginner lessons in Piano.

I have a BA(hons) in Music, the CT ABRSM (Certificate of Teaching – Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and was a highly regarded member of the  peripatetic staff at Stafford Grammar School for over 15 years.

I believe every pupil is an individual with their own learning styles and it's important to understand what motivates and inspires them. I work with students to ensure their lessons help them achieve their full potential.

Learning a new skill is regularly highlighted by healthcare professions as one of the key ways to improve your mental health. Playing an instrument strengthens the band of nerve fibres that connect the left and right brain hemispheres called the Corpus Callosum. This helps us to think quicker and more creatively. It increases problem solving skills and allows you to express emotions.

Tuition Fees are currently £38 ph. Lessons are booked in blocks of 6 either weekly or fortnightly, and paid for in advance. 

I teach from my home in Shropshire so please ensure you are able to travel before booking a trial lesson.

I always do my best to reschedule a lesson if necessary, however please note lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are still charged for due to insufficient rescheduling time. This is normal practice for instrumental tuition.
