Week 18 Attitude is Everything!
It’s all about choices
Last Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to help out a friend Jules Mitchell on her stand at a Health, Wealth and Happiness Exhibition. Mere coincidence?! I think not! I had the privilege to meet Derek Mills who was one of the keynote speakers, and his message really touched my heart. He talked about setting standards for your life and living them just one day at a time. For Derek, goal setting had not worked, but setting daily standards did. What I wanted to know is how this idea fitted with what I have been learning through the Masterkey Course? We spent several weeks at the beginning of the course defining clearly where we wanted to go in life, or setting goals. Did these two messages conflict? I needed to think about this!
‘It is our attitude of mind toward life which determines the experiences with which we are to meet; if we expect nothing, we shall have nothing; if we demand much, we shall receive the greater portion. The world is harsh only as we fail to assert ourselves. The criticism of the world is bitter only to those who cannot compel room for their ideas. It is fear of this criticism that causes may ideas to fail to see the light of day.’ (Haanel 3:17)

Haanel addresses this in Chapter 9 ‘….If you wish to change conditions you must change yourself. Your whims, your wishes, your fancies, your ambitions may be thwarted at every step, but your inmost thoughts will find expression just as certainly as the plant springs from the seed.’ (Haanel 9:intro)
Coming back to this weeks chapter 18 we read ‘Thought is the energy by which the law of attraction is brought into operation, which eventually manifests in abundance.’ (Haanel 18:27)

Those who really want to learn will listen and grow, and those who fear trying something new will forever chase their goal. We each need to find what works for us, and our feelings are our guide.
‘The incentive of attention is interest; the greater the interest, the greater the attention; the greater the attention, the greater the interest, action and reaction; begin paying attention; before long you will have aroused interest; this interest will attract more attention, and this attention will produce more interest, and so on. This practice will enable you to cultivate the power of attention.’ (Haanel 18:32)
You decide how you wish to be treated.
