Week 1 Listen!
To the voice within
Twelve months ago I had that nudging, prompting feeling in my gut to join the Masterkey Course. Thankfully I listened and my life has begun to change in ways I never thought possible a year ago. (For anyone who may have been following my story you will know how true this is). I have come to understand that these inner promptings are guiding me, but so often I was too busy doing stuff, and didn’t take the time to really pay attention.

Clearly it is our ability to ‘think’ that is the cause. We take action based on our thinking and this causes an effect. Therefore it is logical if you are not happy with the effect you need to change your thinking. Thinking is a process of the mind. ‘There is a world within – a world of thought and feeling and power; of light and life and beauty and, although invisible, its forces are mighy.’ (Haanel 1:6)
Thoughts we continually think create neural pathways and release chemical peptides which our bodies become addicted to, and so without understanding why, we often self sabotage to satisfy an addiction, whether we are aware of it or not. What are we to do? Are we doomed to live a helpless life of sabotage and addiction? NO! You were not born with these thoughts and feelings. They are the result of thought patterns picked up from others and learned behaviour and anything that can be learnt can be unlearnt. Taking the time to be still each day and listen to the small voice within takes some practice, like anything you want to do well. But as you begin to recognise why you do things you can make different choices and so you will get different effects. ‘Mind is creative, and conditions, environment and all experiences in life are the result of our habitual or predominant mental attitude.’ (Haanel 1:2)
