Week 14 Holy Moly!
Do you realize what this means?
The more I have studied and understood about the scientific and spiritual aspects of the creative power of thought I have felt my life making more and more sense. Haanel tells us everything in the Universe is made up of pure negative energy called electrons that fill all space and all material bodies. Electrons have the same velocity (which basically means speed for the non-scientists like me) as all other cosmic energy. ie heat, light, electricity.
We know through scientific research that everything is made up of electrons. They manifest in our body as cells. Have you ever wondered how your cells know which part of your body they are? Why our nail cells know to grow on our fingers and toes and our fingers know to grow at the end of our arms? It is because the cells are intelligent. They know the function they were created for, they know how to maintain constant regeneration and growth. It is your subconscious mind that keeps your body working without conscious effort or understanding required on your part. It is our ability to think that creates the positive charge, just like a magnet needs a + and – end in order for it to work. “All things have their origin in mind, and appearances are the result of thought. So that we see that things in themselves have no origin, permanency, or reality. Since they are produced by thought, they can be erased by thought.” (Haanel 14:16)
Universal Substance (Mind) is unlimited, there is no limit to what we can think, and the origin of all there is is thought. Everything is first created in the mind before we see the manifestation of it. I am not a scientist but at least that makes sense to me. The word ‘manifestation’ used to create a slightly uneasy feeling in me, somehow conjuring up images of spooky stuff. Not sure how that connection was made…but actually all the word means is ‘Clearly apparent to the sight or understanding; obvious.’ Phew! Scooby Dooby Doo!!!! 🙂
“Mind is creative and the principle upon which this law is based is sound and legitimate and is inherent in the nature of things; but this creative power does not originate in the individual, but in the Universal, which is the source and fountain of all energy and substance, the individual is simply the channel for the distribution of the energy. The individual is the means by which the Universal produces the various combinations which result in the formation of phenomena.” (Haanel 14:7)
I love creating things through music and art, and knowing how things work, but the inner workings of a heat gun is not one of them. I trust the people who designed it, made it know all the technical stuff to create an appliance I can use. When I then plug my appliance into the electricity supply I trust it will work as designed. If it doesn’t, should I assume the Law of Electricity will not work for me, or that the appliance is faulty? Seems a pretty obvious answer don’t you think! Yet we often fail to recognise the same scenario when it comes to our lives.
If our ability to think creates the world we live in as a whole, and on a personal and molecular level it would make sense to understand and learn how to plug into the source of all power, Universal Mind, in order to be able to direct our thoughts and so create the lives we desire.
“If you wish harmonious conditions in your life, you must develop an harmonious mental attitude.” (Haanel 14:29)
“The Universal Mind, being infinite and omnipotent, has unlimited resources at its command, and when we remember that it is also omnipresent, we cannot escape the conclusion that we must be an expression or manifestation of that Mind.” (Haanel 14:20)
Holy Moly Batman! Do you realize what that means? “Just as the least pressure of the atmosphere causes an action on the part of the weather vane, so does the least thought entertained by the conscious mind produce within your subconscious mind action in exact proportion to the depth of feeling characterising the thought and the intensity with which the thought is indulged.” (Haanel 14:intro)
Recognition of this tremendous fact places you in touch with Omnipotence. The subconscious mind is the connecting link between the Universal Mind and the conscious mind meaning the conscious mind can consciously suggest thoughts which the subconscious mind will put into action, and as the subconscious is one with the Universal, it has no limits. It is only in the quiet that we are able to connect and Be. Be Still. Be Still and Know. Be Still and Know that I am God. The ‘I’ in you is God and “your world without is a reflection of your world within.” (Haanel 14:30)
“And then the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” (Risk – by Anais Nin)
