Week 15 – Grow Wings
We I cannot obtain what I lack if we I tenaciously cling to what we I have. We are I am able to consciously control our my conditions as we I come to sense the purpose of what we I attract, and are am able to extract from each experience only what we I require for our my further growth. Our My ability to do this determines the degree of harmony or happiness we I attain. (Haanel 15:5)
Charles Haanel begins Chapter 15 with a brief explanation of an experiment conducted at the Rockefeller Institute by Jacques Loch MD PhD that showed even tiny insects can take advantage of natural laws. When they discovered the plant on which they were feeding was dead and no longer able to supply them with their needs they grew temporary wings and flew. If tiny little insects are able to use natural law to save themselves isn’t it logical that humans, with the ability to think, feel and express ourselves verbally and emotionally can too! If your life is not as you want it to be, then you have the ability to change your thoughts and change your life.
‘Words are thoughts and are therefore an invisible and invincible power which will finally objectify themselves in the form they are given.’ (Haanel 15:21)
We have learnt throughout the MasterKey System that words are the highest form of architecture and every word we speak is like an invisible thread that weaves out the tapestry of our lives. Through the use of insight we are able to examine facts, use inductive reasoning to compare and course correct as necessary whilst like the Captain of a ship, maintaining our heading due North towards our destination.
‘There can be no question but that
he who “is if I “am wise enough to understand” will readily recognise that the creative power of thought places an invincible weapon in his my hands and makes him me a master of destiny.’ (Haanel 15:28)
us me to be prepared for the obstacles which we I shall meet; we I can therefore overcome them before they have any opportunity of causing difficulty. Insight enables us me to plan to advantage and turn our my thought and attention in the right direction, instead of into channels which can yield no possible return. Insight is therefore absolutely essential for the development of any great achievement, but with it we I may enter, explore and possess any mental field.’ (Haanel 15:32-34)
Knowing you have the ability to create your life as you want it at any moment gives you wings. After years of following old thought habits it can take a little while to slow the momentum down, but as surely as removing the roots of a plant, the visible signs of the past will disappear as you change your thoughts, and then it’s second star to the right and straight on til morning. You can fly, you can fly, you can fly.
