Week 2 Well I never……

“You affect your subconscious mind by verbal repetition.” (W. Clement Stone)

I have been learning so much about the Conscious and Subconscious mind this week.

For instance…. so often we talk about having a Subconscious mind…. so I always thought this was in my head.

But I was wrong. The Brain is the organ of the Conscious mind……. The Solar Plexus that is the organ of the Subconscious mind.

This is where we feel emotion and imagination. It is our internal guidance system, which helps our conscious mind make decisions.

If we feel anxious or scared we know that something is probably bad for us, and if we feel excited or peaceful then we know that something is good.

How many times have you said….”I don’t know, something just doesn’t feel right!” or “it just feels right somehow.”

So many of us neglect to pay attention to these feelings and often find ourselves going through life in a chaotic, haphazard manor. We feel frustrated, fed up or even angry that our lives don’t seem to be going the way we had hoped and wished when we were young.

I know I have found myself in this position, without really knowing why.

The problem I’ve discovered is because our Subconscious mind has no defence against our Conscious mind. So as we go about our lives being bombarded by advertising, negative situations or people and all manner of other unhelpful things, we find ourselves thinking about them. And there in lies the problem!!!!

Our Subconscious has no defence against our Conscious mind. Anything our Conscious mind thinks about our Subconscious mind will accept, and it goes to work to attract similar to us.

It works 24/7. You cannot stop it any more than you can stop the blood flowing through your veins. But the good news is……..we have a choice over what we think about. Phew!

“My actions are ruled by appetite, passion, prejudice, greed, love, fear, environment, habit, and the worst of these tyrants is habit.” (The Greatest Salesman in the World – Og Mandino)

It is only out of habit that we do most things. Habits cannot be broken, but they can be replaced by other habits. Double Phew!

This week’s Master Keys reading has helped me to fully understand that by choosing only positive things to think about, and creating new habits to replace those I do not want, I can start to turn the tide.

“That’s what alchemists do. They show that when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.” (The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho)

As I am following the tasks set out in the Master Keys Course, my life is changing. New people are coming into my consciousness that are helping me to grow as a person. New opportunities are presenting themselves that are helping me move towards my dreams and purpose in life.

Oh my gosh, and this is only Week 2!…..I firmly believe that by the end of the 26 week course my life will have changed beyond all recognition. Watch this space…………   ;o)
